Christmas is coming! Christmas tree hunting at Cotley Farm & Exeter’s Christmas Market
We’ve been getting festive this week, visiting the Christmas market and choosing our tree at Cotley Farm in Whimple…
The Exeter Cathedral Christmas Market
Our friend Eddie was staying with us last weekend. So, to get in the festive spirit I thought we should head to the Christmas market outside Exeter Cathedral.
This year it is being run by the Cathedral team and seems a lot more spacious than last year.
It was quite early so it wasn’t completely open (no mulled wine or booze) but we visited my friends at Simply Roka and looked at the stalls that were open.
There are lots of fabulous gifts to chose from, and I will definitely be coming back to do my Christmas shopping at a later date.
Exeter Cathedral’s Christmas market is open until Sunday 17th December, at the following times: Monday to Wednesday: 10.00-19.00, Thursday to Saturday: 10.00-21.00 and Sunday: 11am-5pm.

Choosing our tree at Cotley Farm
Nothing gets you more in the spirit of Christmas than choosing your very own Christmas tree. Last weekend we were invited to Cotley Farm‘s ‘choose a tree weekend‘ to do just that. We arrived early, and after popping along to see the reindeer. We hopped on the tractor ride to handpick our very own tree.
After a trip through the apple orchards we discovered row upon row of beautiful Christmas trees waiting to be chosen. Christmas tree farmer and owner, Lester helped us label our tree and gave us some great advice on how to look after it.
Then we took a ride back to the farm and had a delicious hot chocolate and a mince pie.
The Christmas farm shop have some fabulous decorations I was quite taken by the sparkly hedgehogs!
We are having a full on Christmas this year at ours with the Italian side of the family, and we can’t wait to get our tree up.
The biggest decision of the day was when to collect it! We opted for the weekend of the 9th of December.
When do you put yours up?
Cotley Farm is open 10-6pm every day from 25th November to the 24th December (when they are open until 12pm)
