Psst… Got a love of literature and a child that loves it too? You won’t want to miss the Budleigh Lit Fest.

You may already know Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival because of the impressive lineup of writers it brings to East Devon every year. But did you know it has a bunch of events for children and families featuring a brilliant range of authors, illustrators and workshops?

Insiders Pro Tip: There’s also free activity in the Festival’s mini marquee all weekend – September 21-22. Pop along and celebrate this year’s theme of wildlife and discover a range of activities for all ages based on nature.

One of the major draws for families at this year’s Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival is the incredible line-up of children’s authors. And don’t worry—the little ones don’t have to stay still and quiet; the authors love interaction with their audiences!

To save you from doing the leg work, we have handpicked five highlights from his year’s festival & I’ve added a ticket link to each section with the event details.

Join the bestselling and multi-award-winning author with his latest magical tale about a boy, his teddy and an extraordinary winter adventure. Little Fox has gone missing in the park. The family searched high and low, but the teddy couldn’t be found. Then, one night, a beautiful fox calls at the window, and the young boy decides to follow her. Follow their winter adventure and find out what happens next.
